機,課程結束後送機。
2.參與iEARN-USA的職前培訓與文藻外語大學之培訓。
3.管理及協助NSLI-Y14年度班學生在台灣的學習、生活與身
心狀況。
4.與文藻NSLI-Y14 專案經理人(LC)、相關工作團隊配合、共
同確保計畫執行之順利運作。
5.訪視友善接待家庭及協助學生與家庭溝通。
6.與學生個別面談,舉行每週或每月例行會議,了解學生活適
應及身體狀況,並回報iEARN-USA及主持人。
7.其它依據2022-2023 NSLI-Y14的guideline執行相關之工
作事項。
8.RD之聘用經由文藻與iEARN-USA甄選面試後,由文藻依行政
流程聘用。

工作性質:全職,需出差
工作待遇:扣除學校應付勞、健保費,薪資四萬以上,面議。
上班地點:高雄市
●可上班日:通過校方甄選及美方面試後,可於5月1日上班

NSLI-Y Resident Director at Wenzao University

Wenazo University, in partnership with iEARN-USA,
is currently seeking a qualified Resident Director
to work in Taiwan on summer and academic year
language programs for U.S. high school students.
The program, the National Security Language
Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y), is focused on
Chinese (Mandarin) language acquisition and takes
place in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. This is a full-time
position.

ANTICIPATED START DATE: May 01, 2022

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Resident Director (RD) represents Wenzao
University and iEARN-USA and serves as a cultural
and academic liaison for NSLI-Y students (aged 15–
19 years old) during their overseas program. The
RD is the primary support person for all students
and is responsible for the ongoing monitoring of
the safety and well-being of students. The RD must
be available to students on a daily basis, observe
students’ classes, and be available via phone to
students in case of emergency. The RD also plays a
key role in supporting participant learning and
encouraging the use of the target language as much
as possible.

The RD will be required to attend an online or in-
person training session. RDs work in coordination
with Wenzao University and iEARN-USA on pre-
program language support, orientation planning,
conference calls and webinars with students, and
logistical support. If travel conditions and
COVID-19 policies allow for it, RDs will travel
with their student groups at the beginning and end
of their programs.

RDs report to the Local Coordinator in Taiwan and
to iEARN-USA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•Be responsible for and available to a group of
American high school students at all times during
the program, including traveling with students
during program activities and being available 24/7
for emergencies;
•Perform tasks according to the NSLI-Y guidelines
and assist students participants in their studies,
life, travel, and cultural exchanges in Taiwan;
•Lead individual and group debriefing sessions
with students to enhance the language learning
experience and cultural understanding;
•Advise program participants as needed on diverse
issues related to their study abroad experience
(including, but not limited to: language learning,
host family adjustment, culture, program
logistics, homesickness, interpersonal and group
dynamics);
•Hold weekly/monthly check-ins with students
individually to support their cultural adaptation
and physical wellness, and report to iEARN-USA
according to program guidelines;
•Enforce iEARN and Wenzao University policies,
including policies related to COVID-19;
•Assist in the coordination of logistics for
students' in-person courses and program activities
during their stay in Taiwan. Should courses be
moved to U.S.-based virtual programming due to
external factors, RD shall be responsible for the
remote consultation and assistance together with
the LC;
•Work closely with the Local Coordinator and
iEARN-USA to design and deliver an online language
preparation curriculum for students to teach them
basic phrases and common characters;
•Participate in pre-program webinar and conference
call;
•Co-facilitate and plan student pre-departure
sessions in San Francisco, if conditions allow;
•Pick-up and drop-off NSLI-Y summer and academic
year students at the airport in Taipei, if
conditions allow;
•Review student information and other program
materials;
•Submit weekly reports to the Local Coordinator
and iEARN-USA program staff, as well as final
reports and individual student evaluations;
•Conduct visits to each student’s host family,
along with other program staff;
•Meet frequently with the Local Coordinator to
share and discuss any information that would be
helpful for the students, both in terms of their
safety/well-being and their language development;
•Respond to participant emergencies, including
assisting participants with securing medical care
and navigating local clinics and hospitals;
•Manage a modest budget for program funding and
its financial documentation;
•Collect videos and photographs from students and
staff;
•Participate in pre-departure training from iEARN-
USA; and,
•Perform any related duties or special projects as
directed by supervisor.

EXPERIENCE
•Bachelor’s degree in Chinese, English as a
Foreign Language, Area Studies, Education, Social
Work, or related field;
•Fluent in English (listening, speaking, reading
and writing)
•Demonstrated skills in academic and personal
counseling or Residential Life;
•Must be able to pass a criminal background check;
and Candidate must have multicultural professional
experience between the U.S. and China or Taiwan.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Proven ability to work with and lead high school
students;
•Enthusiasm and experience in language education;
•Prior experience as a student abroad participant
or long-term resident abroad;
•High emotional intelligence and interpersonal
skills; ability to listen and to engage a wide
range of partners;
•Flexibility and willingness to work outside
primary job description and traditional work
hours; and,
•An appreciation for and eagerness to work with a
diverse, innovative, and trailblazing youth
community.

Resident Directors must be fully vaccinated from
COVID-19 in order to perform their duties.
